Designed and produced on these principles, Sparrow
Handbags was created and launched its first collection for Fall 2007,
providing stylish handbag alternatives for the conscious consumer.
Sparrow Handbags is located in
British Columbia where the design and production proudly takes place. Each bag is handmade in our studio with special
attention to detail and quality construction
as well as style and functionality. Printed fabrics are designed and silk screened by hand in-house. Careful consideration is made
when choosing materials for each collection to ensure they meet
Sparrows standards and principles.
The Environment & Animals
In addition to being passionate about fashion,
Sparrow is passionate about the well being of animals and the
preservation of the environment, which is reflected through all
aspects of the company.
We make a conscious effort to minimize our production waste and recycle and re-use everything we possibly can, donating our usable bits of material.
We use only organic & sustainable fabrics which are dyed with "reactive dyes" also known as "low impact" dyes.
We silkscreen using 100% solvent free water based inks specially formulated with the environment in mind.
We collect recycled Tetra boxes and use them in our handbags for stability and bag bottoms.
All of our promotional materials are printed on recycled paper and printed locally in small quantities.
We email whenever we can to avoid unnecessary paper waste.
We work closely with local suppliers in a constant effort to reduce our carbon footprint.
We are not meat eaters. This is primarily because we think animals are great! For this reason our handbags are 100% vegan.
